“I craved having a Black teacher”

I craved having a Black teacher for many years. Growing up being one of the only Black students in my school experience was oftentimes an isolating experience. I craved reading books and taking curriculums that reflected my identity. When I finally had a Black teacher, I was ecstatic. I saw myself in the teacher…I saw what I can be. Black Tutors Canada serves as a bridge for Black students to connect with Black educators.

“Develop a sense of confidence”

I am excited about Black Tutors Canada's Platform. It is my belief that Black students will feel comfortable studying in an environment supported by Black educators, whereby students will further develop a sense of confidence to demonstrate their Black excellence. Not for us without us...way to go Black Tutors Canada!

“Our community needs such a platform”

I remember the first time I was introduced to Black Tutors Canada, I was in awe of the ideas that were being presented to me and throughout the presentation. All I could think is “our community needs such a platform”. I am excited about its potential and will be using its tutoring services for my child.
