Black Tutors Canada Inc. connects students with Black tutors across Canada. To celebrate our two-year anniversary (September 2024), Black Tutors Canada Inc. is excited to announce the launch of the first Black Tutors Canada Inc. – I Qualify Scholarship, aimed at supporting Canadian Black students in their academic journeys. Please read the following important information before applying. NOTE: By applying and submitting any documents, images, pictures, or videos, you consent to Black Tutors Canada Inc. sharing them on our social media platforms, blog, and website, including your name, age, school board, program of study, and the institution you were accepted into, and you must agree to sit for a recorded interview. Black Tutors Canada Inc. will freely use these documents and information accordingly.

Eligibility:

• • Must identify as culturally, socially, demographically, ancestry Black (i.e., African, Caribbean, Afro-Canadian, Afro-Indigenous and of the African-diaspora).
  • Must currently be enrolled in the Peel District School Board -OR- Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board.
  • Must be accepted into a post-secondary institution in Canada as a full-time student for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Application requirement (steps 1-5):

1. 1. Sign up on our website (www.blacktutorscanada.ca): create a “Student/Service user” account.
   2. Follow us on our social media platforms, “like” and “share” at least one of our posts.
   3. Personal Statement (250-500 words): Email to info@blacktutorscanada.ca
   4. Provide proof of post-secondary acceptance no later than April 25, 2025. Email ‘Acceptance Letter’ to info@blacktutorscanada.ca.
   5. Provide a clear photograph of yourself (you can use your smartphone to take the picture).

**Your application package must include the completion of all the above steps and eligibility requirements to be considered for this scholarship. **

Email attachments  (info@blacktutorscanada.ca) of your Personal Statement,  Acceptance Letter, and Picture in one email with the words – “Black Tutors Canada Inc. – I Qualify Scholarship” in the Subject line.

Scholarship Award:

• • Two students will be selected to receive $500 each.

• • The scholarship is not based on grades or field of study; it focuses on your passion for education, how you exemplify Black excellence, and your plans to give back to your community.

Deadline:
