Meet Victor Uyere, one of our inspiring 2025 Black Tutors Canada Inc. – I Qualify Scholarship recipients — a brilliant Peel District School Board student and first-generation Nigerian immigrant who is paving the way for a better, more equitable world through engineering! 🧠🔧

From taking apart laptops as a child to excelling in Computer Science and Computer Engineering in high school, this student is passionate about solving real-world problems with technology. 🌍💡Victor believes “that the most fulfilling careers are those where we serve others.”

His impressive list of achievements includes:

✔️ Academic scholar
✔️ Member of Student Council (planning school-wide events)
✔️ Volunteer with Love of Literature Book Club, supporting Black youth
✔️ Community work with Regeneration Outreach, addressing homelessness
✔️ Organized fundraisers to tackle local food insecurity
✔️ A commitment to building green energy solutions and fighting climate change

Victor has gained acceptance into several universities, including Toronto Metropolitan University –  Bachelor of Engineering program. He hopes to use his skills to transform underserved communities, especially those affected by energy inequality.
